With a degree in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute and a Master’s in Fashion Design from Domus Academy in Milan, Megan Huntz built a collection and a shop rooted in timeless, modern craft, guided by a simple ethos: positive impact in fashion. Beginning in 2014, she launched her collection in Atlanta and represented independent brands aligned with her values around ethical manufacturing. She closed the storefront in January 2026.
For over a decade, she designed more than clothing — she designed and curated spaces and experiences. She listened closely and understood that many who came through the shop were seeking more than garments; they were seeking a return to themselves.
Launched in 2026, Independent Study grew from that realization. After 25 years in a fast-paced creative field, she understood the exhaustion of constant performance. Independent Study was created as an antidote — a space to refill the well, return to creative flow, and gather intentionally around creativity and connection.
